Greensburg- Beulah Evon (Carr) Banta, 94, died April 12,2017 at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus Texas. She was born May 25, 1922 the daughter of P.L. “Bill” and Lola (Hickman) Carr. Beulah had lived in Greensburg and Abilene Kansas , Paris Tennessee, Portland Indiana, and the last 4 years with her daughter Candi in Schulenburg, Texas. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1940. Beulah worked several years at the Clippard Plant in Paris, Tennessee and Wylers Department Store in Portland Indiana. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Paris Tennessee, the National Square Dancers Association and attended the West Walnut Street Church of Christ in Portland Indiana. On August 20,1941 Beulah married Don Banta in Greensburg. Survivors include two sons Ron Banta ( wife Wendy) and Randy Banta, all of Greensburg. Two daughters Suzanne Smith (husband Jim) Paris Tennessee. Candi Decker, Schulenburg Texas. Nine Grandchildren, seventeen Great-grandchildren, and one Great-Great-grandson. Beulah was preceded in death by husband Don, son Rodney Bill Banta, son-in-law Scotty Decker, three Grandchildren Tamara Smith, Dwayne Lancaster, and Charlie Don Banta, and a sister Sylvia Maxine Carr. Funeral Services and celebration of Beulah’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Greensburg Christian Church, Greensburg with Pastor Jon Harrison presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 Friday at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg.
