Clorene Jewel Smith, 90, passed away January 24, 2019 in Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born November 6, 1928 in Pratt, Kansas the daughter of Louis L. and Zelma (Kerrick) Graves. Clorene had lived in Greensburg until the May 2007 tornado relocated her to North Newton. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1946. For many years, she was the head cashier at Dillons Grocery Store. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Star of Hope Chapter, Greensburg, The Western Kansas Prairie Painters, the Society of Decorative Painters, and the Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, Newton. On August 7, 1948, Clorene married Kenneth Lee Smith. He preceded her in death September 15, 2010. She is survived by a daughter Jean Ann Duscher (Warren), Wichita, two sons Kenneth Mark Smith (Darlene), Alamosa, Colorado, and Kevin Lee Smith, Katy, Texas, six Grandchildren, twelve Great-grandchildren and a sister Charlotte Tabor, Lindsey, Oklahoma. She was also preceded in death by three brothers Orie, Paul, and Forrest Graves and a sister Carolyn Clark. Funeral services and celebration of Clorene’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church, Greensburg with Pastor Chu officiating.
