Derby- Dallas Merle Evans, 79, died December 18, 2023, at his home in Mulvane, Kansas. He was born March 2, 1944, in Lubbock, Texas, the son of Raymond Roger and Glendola A. (Scott) Evans. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Dallas served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Respiratory Therapist and then earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Barclay College, Haviland, Kansas. He was a pastor at several Friends Churches, living in Cedar Point, McPherson, Baxter Springs, Derby, Arkansas City, Mulvane and Haviland, Kansas. He was a member of Friends Churches. On October 20, 1964, Dallas married Reta Shuck in Hugoton, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include one son Douglas Evans, Shakopee, Minnesota, one daughter Julie Bais and husband Bryan, Mulvane, Kansas, five Grandchildren, Justin Evans, Hannah Dorr, Bryce Collier, Wade Bais, and Karis Bais, three Great-grandchildren, Kaydence Dorr, Mara Evans and Juri Evans, one sister Judy Hubbard, Wichita, Kansas. Dallas was preceded in death by a son Brandon Evans, an infant brother and infant sister. A memorial service will be held, 2:00 pm Friday January 5, 2024, at Derby Friends Church, Derby, Kansas with Josiah Williams and Frank Penna presiding. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 26, 2023, in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to Barclay College in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, Kansas 67054.
