Greensburg, Kansas- Dathel Gusteva Mucklow, 91, died April 16, 2016 at Lovelace Westside Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born June 9, 1924 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, the daughter of David and Elvie (Grooms) Rawson. Dathel was a longtime resident of Greensburg Kansas until January 2016, relocating to Rio Rancho, New Mexico to reside at Fairwinds Retirement Community. She also lived in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Goodland, Garden City, and Larned, Kansas, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dathel spent most of her life teaching piano. She loved playing and did so every opportunity she had. She was dedicated to her church and played for them faithfully. She continued to play the piano for residents of Fairwinds right up to her passing. On July 18th, 1942 Dathel married the love of her life, Lloyd E. Mucklow in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Together they showed by example what a happy and loving marriage was meant to be. He went home to be with the Lord on January 27th, 2000. Survivors include two daughters, Judi Haight and husband George, Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Debbie Hewitt and husband Alvin, Greensburg, two foster daughters, Marie Thompson, Wichita, Kansas and Vickie Matthews, Larned, 17 Grandchildren, 51 Great-grandchildren, and 5 Great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved and was loved by each and every one of them. She was preceded in death by a brother Dale Rawson, one son, Gary Mucklow, one daughter, Jayna Kendall, and one grandson, Barry Mucklow. Memorial Services and celebration of Dathel’s life will be held 10:30 am Thursday, April 28th, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, Greensburg with Pastors Franklin Ruff and Marvin George presiding. Inurnment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church, Greensburg, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main St., Greensburg, Kansas 67054.
