Dodge City- Dr. Jerrold Wayne “Jerry” Ketner, 81, died November 12, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Center. He was born May 27, 1934 in Allentown, Pennsylvania the son of Francis D. and Amelia (Switzer) Ketner. He attended Eastern Nazarene College and Temple University. Jerry earned a Doctorate in Education. He had lived in Philadelphia, Detroit, Kansas City, Colorado Springs, Boston, Olathe, and Dodge City, Kansas. He was a retired minister and director of New Hope Compassion Ministries with international projects and centers. Jerry was a member of the Dodge City Ministerial Alliance and the Dodge City Church of the Nazarene. On August 19, 1955 Jerry married Susie J. Scott in Miami, Florida. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter Kandra Sue Conant and husband Dr. Merrill, Dodge City, one brother Francis D. Ketner, Jr., Overland Park, Kansas, three Grand-daughters Erin Conant and boyfriend Nick Stein, Sacramento, California, Ashley Iverson and husband Steve, Alta Vista, Kansas and Taylor Conant, Dodge City, and one Great-granddaughter Josephine Iverson. Funeral Services and celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held 10:30 am Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Dodge City Church of the Nazarene with Dr. Mike Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Cimarron Cemetery. A visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Monday at the church. Memorial are suggested to New Hope On the Plains, Inc. in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S.
