FRANCES IRENE MONTGOMERY
Greensburg – Frances Irene Montgomery, 80, died May 25, 2014 at Via Christi Hospital, Wichita, Kansas. She was born August 13, 1933 in Clifton Terrace, Illinois the daughter of George and Irene Phillips Sherman. She was a life-long home-maker.
On June 3, 1970 she married James William “Bill” Montgomery in Shelbyville, Missouri. Frances had lived in Hannibal, MO., Bowling Green, MO., Ford, KS, Dodge City, KS and Greensburg, KS.
Frances is survived by her husband; five sons: Robert Resor and wife, Becky of Texas; Alan Resor and wife, Lisa of Grant, NE; Joseph Resor and wife, Delores of New London, MO; H. Glen Resor of Jetmore, KS; and James Phillip Montgomery and wife, Lindsay of Dodge City; three daughters: Martha Marshall of Springfield, MO; Sharon Wellmaker of Mullinville, KS; and Suleenia Charlton and husband, Danny of Greensburg; two brothers: George Sherman or Hannibal, MO and James Sherman of Ballinger, TX; one sister, Sarah Angels of Philadelphia, MO; 38 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, Sarah Hammond, Marie Charlton and Corrina Charlton and three grandchildren, Corrina Charlton, Alan Resor, Jr. and Joseph Glen Resor.
Funeral services and celebration of Frances’ life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Greensburg Mennonite Church, Greensburg, Kansas with Rev. Jeffrey D. Blackburn presiding. Graveside services will follow the service in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to the Frances Montgomery Memorial Fund, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S.
