Galen Ralstin McDonald

Mullinville- Galen Ralstin “Mac” McDonald, 80, died July 17, 2026, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kansas. He was born April 1, 1946, in Larned, Kansas, the son of Glen Eugene and Juanita Elnora (Ralstin) McDonald. A lifetime Mullinville resident, Galen “Mac” graduated from Mullinville High School in 1964 and earned a B.S. Degree from Kansas State University. He was a farmer and rancher. Mac’s memberships included the Mullinville United Methodist Church, the NRA, and he had served on the board of the Mullinville Coop. On July 20, 1968, Galen married Sharon S. Dillon in Boulder, Colorado. She survives. Other survivors include two sons Ryan McDonald (Amanda), Council Grove, Kansas, and Kyle McDonald (Angela), Hutchinson, Kansas, two daughters Shawna Beltz (Daren), Sterling, Kansas, and Melissa Keller (Jim), Saint Francis, Kansas, ten grandchildren, Samantha and Ethan McDonald, Kendra and Gavin McDonald, Mallory Carlson (Jeb), Wyatt Beltz (Angela) and Lindsey Beltz, Dillon, Will and Isaac Keller, one brother Verlin “Dee” McDonald (Donna), Mullinville, a brother-in-law Marlin Zimmerman, Kansas City, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Galen was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Cheryl Zimmerman. Memorial services and celebration of Galen’s life will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Mullinville United Methodist Church with Rev. Alex – Bob Karimu and Dr. Rev. Jim Godbey officiating. Inurnment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Mullinville. A visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Mullinville United Methodist Church. Memorials are suggested to the Mullinville United Methodist Church, the Mullinville High School Alumni Association, and Hillcrest Cemetery, all in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054.
