Denver, Colorado-Gene Bertram Snyder, 90, died April 26, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. He was born November 16, 1926 in Fowler, Kansas, the son of Isaac Bertram and Katie Mae (Campbell) Snyder. Gene served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947. He was a retired mechanic. He attended high school in Cimarron, Kansas. He was active in all sports and was an avid outdoorsman. Gene loved hunting, fishing boating and camping. He also enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, playing cards and dominoes and was quite competitive in these games. he competed in boxing while in the Navy. Gene is survived by four daughters Jackie (Wes) Carlton, Greensburg, Kansas, Marilyn Black, Oberlin, Kansas, Shelly (Roger) Adelhardt, Cunningham, Kansas and Jo Ellen (Terry) Johnson, Denver, Colorado, sixteen Grandchildren, twenty-seven Great-grandchildren and ten Great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six sisters, two infant grandsons and a son-in-law. Graveside services with Military Honors will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 in Fowler Cemetery, Fowler, Kansas with Pastor Wes Carlton officiating.
