Mullinville – Jack C. Carson, 82, died May 12, 2026, at Trinity Manor, Dodge City, Kansas. He was born May 14, 1943, in Haviland, Kansas, the son of Floyd and Mary I. (Spurgeon) Carson. Jack graduated from Mullinville High School in 1961 and attended Pratt Community College. Jack was employed by a traveling circus for several years as a young man and later became a Certified Nurse Aide and also worked for Dillons, both in Greensburg, Kansas. He was a lifetime resident of Mullinville, Kansas, and a member of the Mullinville United Methodist Church. On July 17, 1994, Jack married Lona (Davis) Fletcher in Greensburg. She survives. Other survivors include a brother John Carson (Cindy), Greensburg, a sister Susan Staats (Roger), Manhattan, Kansas, a son Daniel Fletcher and a daughter, Wanda Dunfield (Terry), all of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, and fifteen grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Darrel and Gary Carson, a sister Carol Durkee, a son Howard Fletcher, and two daughters Virginia and Donna Fletcher. Funeral services and celebration of Jack’s life will be 10:30 am, Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Mullinville United Methodist Church, with pastor Alex Bob-Karimu presiding. A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 pm Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg. Burial will follow the service in Haviland Cemetery, Haviland. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and the Shriners Children’s Hospital, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main St., PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054.
