James Lee Schmidt

Greensburg- James Lee Schmidt, 62, died November 20, 2018 in Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born in Greensburg, Kansas, April 1, 1956 to Harold Eugene and Sarah Elizabeth (Kennedy) Schmidt. A lifetime resident of Greensburg, James was a farmer. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1974 and attended Hutchinson Community College. He had served on the board of Farmers Grain and Supply, Greensburg. James married Sandy Grapper in 1982. He is survived by a son Terry Schmidt, Denver, Colorado, a daughter Jamie Jellison (Jason), Pratt, Kansas, a brother Willie Schmidt (Joyce), Greensburg, a sister Kathy Schmidt (Ray Schiffner) Austin, Texas, his mother Sarah Schmidt, Greensburg and three Grandchildren, Abigail, Brynn and Garrett Jellison, Pratt. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother Mike Schmidt and an infant brother Melvin.. Memorial services and celebration of James’ life will be 2:00 pm, Friday, November 24, 2018 at the Greensburg Christian Church with Pastor Jon Harrison presiding.
