Jerald Duane Skibbe

Greensburg – Jerald Duane Skibbe, 86, died April 19, 2026, at the Catholic Care Center, Bel Aire, Kansas. He was born November 16, 1939, in Marion, Kansas, the son of Forrest and Alvina (Bernhardt) Skibbe, and grew up on a farm near there. Jerald became a teacher and enjoyed seeing students succeed and learn to think for themselves. During the summers he enjoyed helping others when needed and learning new teaching skills. Jerald is survived by a sister Jeannine Bateman, Marion, and a brother Daryl (Connie) Skibbe, Newton, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law RJ Bateman. A visitation will be held 10:00 am to Noon, Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main St, Greensburg, Kansas. A private family inurnment will be at a future date in Restlawn - Garden of Memories, Newton. Memorials are suggested to Friends of Education Charitable Trust, for scholarships of Kiowa County High School students, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054-0041.
