Joanna Marie Francis

Haviland- Joanna Marie Francis, 83 died October 25, 2022 at her home in Haviland, Kansas. She was born June 14, 1939, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the daughter of Paul Erwin and Bonnie June (Schrock) Correll. Joanna had lived in Denver, Colorado, Wichita, Kansas, Camdenton, Missouri, Greensburg, Kansas, and Haviland. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1957 and attended Nursing School in Wichita. Joanna was a Nurse Aide at the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, for over 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Greensburg. On April 24, 1959, Joanna married Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Francis in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death September 24, 2009. She is survived by two sons Monty Francis and wife Judy, Lexington, Kentucky, Matt Francis and wife Chandra, Lewis, Kansas, one daughter Terri Francis, Haviland, six Grandchildren Brandon Francis, Christina Sims and husband J.D., Douglas Francis and wife Shelby, Elizabeth White and husband Codey, Kelsi Francis and Eli Francis, six Great-grandchildren, two sisters Fay Miller, Pratt, Kansas and Cherri Koehn and husband Troy, Inman, Kansas, a sister-in-law Arlene Scronce, Haviland. Joanna was also preceded by her parents, two brothers Steven Correll and Cecil Scronce, and a sister Connie Correll Caplinger. Funeral services and celebration of Joanna’s life will be held 10:30 am Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the First Baptist Church, Greensburg, with Pastor Nick Sterner presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. A visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Friday at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg.
