Haviland-Kenneth R. Whitney, 79, died March 16, 2017 at his home in Haviland, Kansas. He was born December 20, 1937 in Pratt, Kansas the son of Willard Fay and Madgelean Mabel (Woodward) Whitney. Kenneth was a farmer and custom harvester. He had lived in Rock, Kansas, Empire, California, Cherryvale and Haviland, Kansas. He was a member of the Haviland Friends Church, Haviland. On September 6, 1958 Kenneth married Lora Lee Doyle in Reno, Nevada. She survives. Other survivors include a son Brian Whitney and wife Rhonda, Haviland, a foster daughter Daphne Smith and husband Robert, Isabel, Kansas, five Grandchildren, Shiloh Whitney and husband James Beusch, Lacy Whitney, Cody Lothman and wife Audrey, Rance Lothman, and Quint Whitney, and ten Great-grandchildren. Kenny was preceded in death by a daughter Kenda Lee Lothman and two brothers Duward and Willard Whitney. Funeral services and celebration of Kenny’s life will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Haviland Friends Church with Greg Giles and Jerry Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Haviland Cemetery, Haviland. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg.
