Greensburg-Laurence W. Schwarm left this earthy life, surrounded by family and friends on April 25, 2017. He died in the home in which he was born to Alice (Gierhart) and John Schwarm on February 24, 1924. On May 21 1943 he married Pauline Cory, his high-school sweetheart. They raised crops, sheep and three sons on the original Schwarm farmstead, which was recently celebrated as a Century Farm. Laurence is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Margaret Schwarm, Helen Barb, Katherine Blanton and Maurine Carr as well as daughter-in-law Diane Schwarm. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Pauline, sister Darlene Erickson, sons Larry (Peg Bicker), Rodney (Diane), David (Martha); grandchildren Sage (Becky Heck), Timothy and Cory, Holly and Kimberly; great-grandchildren Davlin and Kietrich. Laurence and Pauline are blessed with an extended “family” of long-time, loving & generous friends, who are too numerous to name. Memorial services and celebration of Laurence’s life will be held 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Greensburg Mennonite Church, Greensburg, Kansas with Rev. Jeffrey D. Blackburn officiating.
