Martha Kathleen "Katie" Barber

Greensburg- Martha Kathleen “Katie” Barber, 83, died May 14, 2025, at Baylor, Scott and White Hospital, McKinney, Texas. She was born January 26, 1942, in Greensburg, Kansas, the daughter of Chester Norval and Frances Ruth (Fish) Taylor. Katie graduated from Greensburg High School in 1960. She had retired from being a Library Aide in public schools. She had lived in Greensburg, Joy, Stafford, Nashville, Clearwater and Dighton, Kansas and Vernon and Prosper, Texas. On May 29, 1960, Katie married Floyd Gene Barber in Greensburg. He preceded her in death September 18, 2008. She is survived by two sons Michael (Tari) Barber, Steven Barber, a daughter Marti (Brian) Stacy, thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister Sheila K. Robertson. Funeral services and celebration of Katie’s life will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Cornerstone Fellowship North Campus, Greensburg, with Jim Barber officiating. A visitation will be at the church 10:00am to service time Saturday. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.
