Greensburg – Paul Willard Unruh, 80, died October 14, 2025, at Grand Plains Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Pratt, Kansas. He was born February 19, 1945, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, the son of Willard Henry and Selma Elizabeth (Dick) Unruh. Paul lived in India, Pakistan, Feeman, South Dakota, Longview, Texas, and North Newton, Kansas. He was a co-owner of a construction company in Newton, before moving to Greensburg to farm in 1980. Paul graduated from Hesston Academy in 1963 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts from Bethel College, North Newton in 1972. He was on the Board of Directors for Farmers Grain and Supply, Ninnescah Rural Electric, a former Trustee of KEPCO, a former Elder and Sunday School teacher at Greensburg Mennonite Church, and was a board member of the Kansas Mennonite Relief Sale. On August 8, 1969, Paul married Shirley Koehn in Greensburg. She survives. Other survivors include one son Austin Unruh (Anna), Basehor, Kansas, one daughter Nicole Brokar (David), Tecumseh, Kansas, one brother Allan Unruh (DaLene), Valley Center, Kansas, two sisters Carol Buller (Jerry) Newton, Louise Hurwitz, Peachtree Corners, Georgia, a sister-in-law Kathy Unruh, Wichita, Kansas, five grandchildren Jackson, Holly, Delana, and James Unruh, and Justin Brokar (Kirstin), four great-grandchildren Dallas, Amelia, Scarlett and Wesley Brokar. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Burton Unruh. Memorial services and celebration of Paul’s life will be 10:30 am Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Greensburg Mennonite Church, Greensburg, with Reverend’s Brad Roth and Jeffrey D. Blackburn presiding. Inurnment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. A visitation will be held Friday, October 24, 5:00-7:00 pm at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Mennonite Central Committee, Rivercross Hospice and the Greensburg Mennonite Church, all in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, Kansas 67054-0041.
