Haviland - Ralph DeWayne Jantz, 94, died Nov. 6, 2025, at Parkwood Village Reflections, Pratt, Kansas. Born October 4, 1931, in rural Kiowa County, the son of Solomon B. Jantz and Katie (Wadel) Jantz. DeWayne graduated Greensburg High School in 1948. He was a rancher and farmer his whole life. He lived his entire life from six weeks old till age of 90 years old on the original homestead south of Haviland, Kansas. He was a member of the Greensburg Mennonite Church his entire life, serving as an elder for many years. He met Shirley Maust at Hesston College and the two were married November 20, 1951, in Upland California. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before Shirley passed away Dec. 18, 2016. Other survivors include a son Marvin Jantz (Patty), Haviland, and two daughters Cynthia Neufeld (Dan) Quinlan, Texas and Coleen Chartier (Larry) Coats, Kansas. One brother Melvin Jantz (JoAnn) Haviland, Ten grandchildren Chris Neufeld (Anna), Anthony Neufeld (Carrie), Darren Neufeld (Nikki), Garrett Jantz (Samantha), Brenden Jantz (Makenzie Higgs), Dalania Jantz, Weston Jantz (Kirstin), Shaunna Fillmore (Greg), Shanna Jo McCullough (Jake), Dustin Chartier (Tianna). Two step grandchildren Kelsie Kelley (Ethan) and Gracie Gray (Khal Huffman). Sixteen great-grandchildren Haley, Cody, Lane Neufeld, Charlie, Cooper, Creed Jantz, Parker Jantz, Sheldon, Rydon, Kaylon Thatcher, Ty, Taysleigh, Treston McCullough, Brody, Briggs, Brycen Chartier. 6 step great-grandchildren, Eli, Elgin, Esten Kelley, Brexley Huffman, Marlee Harbour, Allison McMahon. Preceded in death by 3 older brothers and 4 sisters, and a daughter-in-law Tami Jantz.

Celebration of DeWayne’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Greensburg Mennonite Church with Rev. Jeffery Blackburn and Rev. Brad Roth presiding. Burial will follow at Soldier Creek Cemetery, Belvidere, Kansas. A visitation will be held Nov. 11, from 5-7 pm at the church. Memorials are suggested to Greensburg Mennonite Church in care of Fleener Funeral Home, P.O. Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054-0041.
