Haviland-Rodney Hannan, 93, died Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital. He was born October 3, 1931, in Manhattan, Kansas, to A.A. Hannan and Dorthea (Lungren) Hannan. He was the second of seven children. He was a 1949 graduate of Haviland High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. Rodney was married to Beverly Ann Bachman on December 21, 1954, at the Haviland Methodist Church in Haviland, Kansas. Rodney was a longtime farmer and enjoyed selling seed for Cargill even after his retirement. He was a member of the Haviland United Methodist Church, Pratt Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and Haviland Heritage Foundation. Rodney and Beverly were the parents of five children: Susan, Rhonda, Mark, John, and Patti. Rodney was preceded in death by Beverly on January 1, 2024, and a son Mark who died in infancy. He was also preceded in death by his parents and four sisters Audrey McMullen, Cledrey Lewis, Becky Stonebraker, and Mary Patee. Surviving children are Susan Pease, (David), Rhonda Ioerger (Terry), John Hannan (Millie) and Patti Liberatore (Steve), nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. A great-great grandchild is due in October 2025. Rodney is also survived by a sister Frankie Graham (Tom) Wichita, a brother Victor Hannan (Kathy), Haviland, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2025, at the Haviland United Methodist Church. Memorials are suggested to Ember Hope, Haviland American Legion, and Haviland United Methodist Church, all in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054-0041.
