Coldwater- Roger Lee “Bucky” Moore, 75, died September 9, 2018 at the Ashland Health Center, Ashland, Kansas. He was born September 17, 1942 in Trenton, Missouri, the son of Austin Claris and Frances LaVaughn (Gannon) Moore. Bucky graduated from Trenton High School in 1960. He was a railroad engineer, retiring from Union Pacific Railroad after over 30 years. Bucky was active in substance abuse recovery for over 32 years.. His memberships include the Masonic organizations as both a 32nd degree York Mason and K.C.C.H. Scottish Rite Mason in Hutchinson and Coldwater Kansas, and a Midian Temple Shrine, Wichita, Kansas. Bucky ran the Shrine Train for handicapped children out of Dodge City for five years. On November 24, 2000 Bucky married Janice (Huck) Gean in Protection, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include two sons Kary Moore, Trenton and Kevin Moore, Houston, Texas, stepson Randyl Gean (Katresa) and Grandchildren Jackson and Emmarie Gean in Protection, Kansas, stepdaughters Jessica Gean in Lincoln, Kansas, and Erica Gean in Wichita, Kansas, two brothers Danny Moore (Cheryl), Spickard, Missouri .and Tim Moore (Lila) Trenton, two sisters Judy Rosenboom (Arnold), Excelsior Springs, Missouri and Merry Ann Lundy (Greg), Kansas City, Missouri. Extended family includes Shelby Stevens (Derek), Dereck Stevens (Shea) and daughter Saylor Stevens, Leawood, Kansas. Mindy Miller(Jeff)and daughters Caylin and Meagan Miller, Kansas City, Mo. Bucky was preceded in death by an infant daughter Jana Denise Moore, his parents, two brothers Donald and Dale Moore, and a nephew Bill Moore. Bucky never knew a stranger. After retirement, the highlight of his life was helping others and doing activities with his family and grandchildren. Memorial services and Celebration of Bucky’s life will be 11:00 am Saturday September 15, 2018 at the Protection United Methodist Church, Protection with Pastors Wayne Stephens, and Dennis Carter officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Jackson, Emmarie and Saylor’s College fund and the Protection United Methodist Church in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg Kansas 67054-0041.
